Settle these before you book

A budget band, in the description, before anyone starts sending links.
Who skis, who snowboards, who is a beginner, since it changes the resort as much as the week.
Whether a yes covers the deposit and by when.
Who is booking flights themselves versus going as a group.
Anyone tied to school holidays, who effectively decide the answer.

Ask in autumn

Three to six months ahead. Group accommodation for six or more goes early, and the good weeks in the good places go first. A poll sent in September gets a different answer set from the same poll sent in December, and a much better price.
