Privacy
Last updated 28 July 2026. Draft - pending legal review.
The short version
You do not need an account. The only personal information we ask for is a name and, optionally, an email address. We do not sell anything, we do not track you across other sites, and there are no tracking pixels in our emails.
What we store
- What you type: the datepoll title, description, location, dates, names, answers and comments.
- Email addresses, only when given - to send you your links and the notifications you asked for.
- A salted hash of your IP address, used for rate limiting and dealing with abuse. We do not store the address itself.
- A record of emails we sent you, so we can answer "did you email me?" and handle bounces.
What we do not do
- Show your email address to anyone else on a datepoll. Other people see names only.
- Track opens or clicks in our email.
- Let search engines index datepolls. Every datepoll page is marked no-index.
How long
A datepoll and everything in it is deleted 90 days after the last activity on it. A datepoll you delete yourself is removed within 30 days. Reported datepolls are kept until the report is dealt with.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider (Laravel Cloud) and our email provider (Resend) process data on our behalf, under contract. Nobody else.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Most of it you can do yourself: delete your own answer on a datepoll, or delete the whole datepoll if you organised it. For anything else, write to privacy@whocanwhen.com.
Cookies
Only what is necessary: one to keep your session secure, and one to remember which answer on a datepoll is yours so you can change it later. No advertising cookies today. If that ever changes we will ask you first.
